I did a bridal fair this weekend. It was so great. There were a lot, and I mean A LOT of brides and their moms and sisters. Weddings are big business in Utah, the wedding capital of the world it seems at times. If you ever wanted to do big business, something to do with weddings in Utah would be the thing to do.
We set up on Thursday evening and then the fair was Friday evening and all day Saturday. I had two members of my team take Friday evening. I then spent all day Saturday and 3 members of the team split the day. One in the morning with her daughter and two more came for the afternoon. We talked to most of the brides. They were very interested in having Urban Botanic parties for their bridesmaids. I even found a few grooms interested in the men’s scents that I had there.
The biggest surprise came, though, when the Spanish channel’s reporter came over, asked me some questions and then decided to interview me for their report on the fair! Of course she had to translate because my elementary Spanish skills are not up to par anymore.
I was happy that so many of the brides wanted to have parties and give Urban Botanic products as gifts for their bridesmaids. Someone told me that brides in Utah do not give gifts to their bridesmaids. I was surprised about that, I gave gifts to mine (but I am not from Utah originally- maybe that makes a difference).
